The Pasadena Showcase House of Design began as a fundraiser in 1965. It is now the largest, most successful and one of the oldest house and garden tours in the U.S.

Victor Alsen, 22 - Clarinet

Victor is a Fulbright student from Oslo, Norway studying at USC. He has been a soloist with the Swedish National Orchestra Academy, Sodra Latin Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm’s Symphony Orchestra. Alsen was the winner of The Audience Prize, Lungbergspriset Winds Competition.

Ji Sun Jung, 18 - Cello

Arianna has studied at the Music Institute of Chicago: The Academy , and is a student at The Colburn. She was concertmistress under conductor Gustavo Dudamel and Cliff Colnot at Chicago’s Symphony Center and has won 1^st prize at the Society of American Musicians Competition, the St. Paul String Quartet Competition and the Rembrandt Chamber Players Competition.

Mayumi Kanagawa - Violin

Mayumi attended Julliard Pre-College from 2004-2007 and studies now at Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences and The Colburn Academy. She has studied violin for 13 years and won First Prize in the Irving M. International Competition.

Michelle Tseng - Violin

Michelle, a junior attending the University of Southern California is the First place winner in the Senior Division at the 2011 American String Teachers Association National Violin Competition. She was also one of the Grand Prize winners at the 2009 LA Music Center Spotlight Awards. Michelle has studied violin for 14 years.

Benjamin Lash - Cello

Benjamin is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance at The Colburn School. In 2009 he was a Finalist in both the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts youngArts Week and the American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition, Junior Cello Division. He has studied cello for 13 years.

Joseph Morris - Clarinet

Joseph attends the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. He was accepted as Rotating Principal Clarinet for the 2011 Summer Season of the National Repertory Orchestra where he also performed as a soloist. Joseph was a Semifinalist at the Lisbon International Clarinet Competition. He has studied clarinet for 12 years.

Francesco Camuglia - Flute

Francesco is pursuing his Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music. He was a winner of the Sarasota Music Festival Flute Concerto Competition, the Downey Symphony Young Artist Competition and a Finalist at the Astral Artists National Auditions.

Conrad Jones - Trumpet

Conrad received a Julliard Pre-College certificate in 2007. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music and an Artist Diploma from The Colburn School. Conrad is currently Principal Trumpet with CityMusic Cleveland. He won the Cleveland Institute of Music Concerto Competition in 2010.

Stephen Tavani - Violin

Stephen is a sophomore at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music. He debuted playing with the Prince William Symphony at the age of 15. Since then, he has performed twice at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall as Finalist of the National Symphony Orchestra Young Soloists Competition. In 2009 he won First Prize at the U.S. Army Orchestra Young Soloist Competition.

Andrew Brady, 20 - Bassoon

Andrew has played the bassoon for six years. Previously, he played the saxophone. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Music, Bassoon Performance at The Colburn School of Music, studying under Richard Breene. He is the principal bassoon for the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra and was a soloist in The Colburn Orchestra, Mozart Bassoon Concerto. Andrew also plays with the American Youth Symphony.

Indira has attended the University of Houston Moores School of Music and is currently attending The Colburn School of Music. Her teacher is Ronald Leonard. She has been a member of Balthasar Neumann Ensemble in Germany and the American Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2009, she won the first prize at the Torrance Symphony Concerto Competition.

Ryan Meehan, 21 - Violin

Ryan is currently attending The Colburn School where he studies with Robert Lipsett. Previous studies were at the Music Institute of Chicago with Almita and Roland Vamos. He won first prize from the American String Teacher's Association and has attended music festivals such as Aspen, Banff and Music Academy of the West.

Michael Zuber, 20 - Bassoon

Michael is studying at The Colburn School of Music pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Music, Bassoon Performance. His teacher is Richard Breene. This past summer he studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Michael has performed with The American Youth Symphony Orchestra and was the principal bassoon for The Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra. Michael credits his teachers, particularly Glenn Einschlag, Principle Bassoon of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with instilling the drive within him.

Sang Yoon Kim, 23 - Clarinet

Sang Yoon is pursuing an Artistic Diploma at The Colburn School of Music, where his teacher is Yehuda Gilad. Previously, he has studied at the Conservatoire National Superieure de Musique de Paris. Sang Yoon has studied the clarinet for ten years. He has won first place at the Leopold Bellan Competition and European de Musicque en Picardie Competition, both in France.

Kristopher Westrich, 22 - Trumpet

Kristopher is a graduate of Northwestern University and is currently seeking an Artist Diploma at The Colburn School. His teacher is Jim Wilt. He has studied the trumpet for twelve years. Kristopher has performed as a substitute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

Ryan Darke, 24 - Trumpet

Ryan has a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from California State University of Long Beach and a Master degree in Performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. He is currently pursuing a Professional Studies Certificate at The Colburn School. His teacher is Jim Wilt. He has studied the trumpet for over six years.

Michelle Tseng, 19 - Violin

Having played the violin for thirteen years, Michelle is attending the University of Southern Califormia, Thornton School of Music, with a major in violin performance. Michelle credits Alice Schoenfeld, international renowned violinist, as the most significant musical influence in her life. She is a Co-Concertmaster for the USC Symphony Orchestra and this past summer was first violin at the Aspen Chamber Symphony Orchestra.

He received his Bachelor of Music degree at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Ronald Leonard. Jack Smith Memorial Award	Brandon Davis, 18 – Tuba Brandon attends the Colburn School Conservatory of Music. He recently won the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference Young Artist Tuba Competition in Cincinnati and was the NFAA youngArts National Merit Tuba winner.

Grand Prize	Pasha Tseitlin, 22 – Violin Pasha attends the University of Southern California and recently placed 1st in the La Jolla Symphony Competition. He made his orchestral debut at the age of 9 performing Vivaldi’s Seasons and at 14 performed Sibelius’ Violin Concerto at the California Center for the Arts.
Strings	First Prize Tao Ni, 23 – Cello Tao attends the Colburn School. He was the winner of the 2007 Cincinnati Symphony Cello Audition. Tao has been a member of the New England Conservatory Youth Orchestra, Julliard School Orchestra and Calgary Youth Orchestra.	Second Prize Ryan Lee, 23 – Violin Ryan attends the Colburn School Conservatory of Music. He is currently a member of the Colburn School Orchestra and the American Youth Symphony. In 2004, Ryan was the winner of the UCLA Concerto Competition.
Woodwinds	First Prize Alexandra Wallin, 21 – Flute Alexandra is currently pursuing her B.M. in flute performance at USC’s Thornton School of Music. She recently won the Tomorrow’s Stars Competition and position of Second Flute of the American Youth Symphony.	Second Prize Jose Gonzalez, 22 – Clarinet Jose attends the USC’s Thornton School of Music. He is a native of Spain and has also studied in Milan, Italy. Most recently, Jose was the Eventual Principal Clarinet of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia in Spain.
