Proceeds from your donations and the Pasadena Showcase House of Design are used to support the following programs of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts.
More than 18 million dollars in gifts and grants has been awarded to support the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall and local symphonic, cultural and educational programs for youth since 1948.
Created by PSHA in 1971, the Music Mobile™ van equipped with musical instruments has visited over 100,000 third graders in their classrooms introducing them to the sounds and magic of a symphony orchestra with a hands-on experience.
Begun in 1953, over 250,000 fourth grade students have attended this annual youth oriented concert with performances by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium or Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Promising young musicians between the ages of 16-24 have been competing annually for monetary awards in the categories of woodwinds, brass and strings. Nearly $450,000 in prize money has been awarded since 1985.
Your donations help enrich the lives and touch the hearts and minds of our community’s children. We hope that you will join us and participate in this exciting venture by becoming a PSHA Patron or Corporate Supporter.
By becoming a Patron, not only will you be helping us continue to support the arts in our community but you also receive added benefits. Patron packages will award you special opportunities to get more involved with Showcase. The Empty House Party, in January, invites you to view the house before the renovations begin and be among the first to view the designers’ plans while enjoying cocktails and a light buffet supper. Premiere Night, in April, is a formal gala to celebrate the unveiling of Showcase. Patron tickets allow one entry to the House any time, on any day, while Showcase is open to the public.
